Rachel Zoe Box of Style - Fall Edition
Fall is finally here and that means it’s time for this seasons Rachel Zoe Box of Style!
As many of you know I’ve become obsessed with this subscription box after signing up earlier this year. Each season I have patiently waited to receive my next box, wondering what kind of items are featured.
Upon getting my Fall Box of Style I was beyond excited to unbox the beautiful packaging to see what was inside…however, I’m sad to say that I wasn’t as fond of the items featured this season as I have been in the past.
Here’s a look inside the items featured in the Fall box:
- Donni Charm Wonder Cape, Retail Value: $197
- B-Low The Belt Gatsby Wrap Belt, Retail Value: $105
- IT Cosmetics Brow Power Eyebrow Pencil, Retail Value: $24
- IT Cosmetics Vitality Lip Blush Hydrating Gloss Stain, Retail Value: $24
- Rachel Zoe Tassel Bracelet, Retail Value: $95
- Hollywood Fashion Secrets Lint Removing Sheet, Retail Value: $6
Right off the bat I was very confused with the selection of items. The products didn’t feel as exclusive or useful as some of the ones in past boxes. It felt like this box was put together very last minute and didn’t really have anything to do with Fall or what’s trending this season.
The only item that fits Fall is the Donni Charm Wonder Cape. This wrap has an unbelievably soft texture. The half white and half black design of the cardigan makes it a little edgy and can help spice up any ordinary outfit to make it look chic. Fall is always about layers and this is WRAP does just that.
The other item I liked was the Rachel Zoe Tassel Bracelet. This tassel bracelet is a design of Rachel Zoe herself so it was nice seeing something form her own collection featured. I like that the color of the gold bracelet is a little more muted—it’s not ghetto gold but a little more matte. The design makes it easy to pair this with other bracelets or a watch to continue the layering trend that goes with Fall. Also, those Hollywood Fashion Secrets Lint Removing Sheets included in the box are so handy!!! Compact and convenient to fit in any purse, and honestly no complaints about the IT Cosmetics Brow Power Eyebrow Pencil because those babies always gotta look on fleek.
Now, for the items I wasn’t very fond of: the B-Low The Belt Gatsby Wrap Belt and the IT Cosmetics Vitality Lip Blush Hydrating Gloss Stain. I really don’t understand the tassel fringe belt. First of all, I hate the color. It’s between black and really dark navy blue and that in-between color is one that really gets under my skin. Second, I don’t like wrap belts. Period. Now, Rachel shows this belt over the wrap and it looks cute in hindsight, but when I actually tried doing it at home it looked terrible. I also won’t be using the gloss stain that came with the box. I’m not fond of the color or texture of the gloss.
I know after reading this you’re thinking…well…seems like you liked most of the items featured in the box. And yes, while that’s true, my issue isn’t with most of the products or brands featured, it’s mostly with curation. With the Fall season here I would have rather received items that fit the season (Maybe gloves? A scarf?!) and were aligned with what’s trending now.
That said, I know it’s tough putting together a one-size-fits-all box. Everyone has a different style, and to give credit where it’s deserved, you can tell RZ and her team try and think of every type of woman and her style when creating the Box of Style.
