Indian Summer Style
Fall. For most this season means the weather is getting cooler, the leaves are turning orange and red and dropping on the floor, and it's time to pull all your sweaters and booties from the back of your closet to the front.
However, if you live in San Francisco, Fall means Summer is finally starting. From September through the end of October we experieince a little something called Indian Summer.
I love this time of year in San Francisco. The heat reminds me a lot of Southern California, where I'm originally from.
This Indian Summer, I'm embracing big floral print dresses with comfortable flat sandals.
I recently bought this dress from American Apparel (on sale!) and am obsessed with it. If I could, I'd wear it every single day. It's super comfortable and actually pretty light for being a long sleeve dress. I like having the quarter sleeves because it keeps me shaded from the sun more. If you've read any of my previous posts you know I burn very easily, so having the sleeves helps protect me from getting sunburnt (because there's nothing cute about looking like a tomato ;)). I paired this American Apparel dress with flat white sandals from Franco Sarto. Up close these sandals have a subtle lizard print pattern on them.
What's I like about this dress is you can wear it very casually, or dress it up with a nice pair of strappy black heeled sandals. It's really something you can wear for any occasion and I know I'll be wearing this throughout Indian Summer, as well as into the Winter by wearing a pair of black tights under the dress with some booties.
