What to wear to a wedding in Hawaii

I just got back from the most breathtaking wedding I’ve ever been to. The wedding on the Big Island of Hawaii, Kona. It was my first time going to Kona. I really loved how residential and calm the entire island was. It was the perfect island to host a wedding because it was so calming, and so beautiful.

Everyone knows picking an outfit for a wedding can be stressful. I especially felt it more for this event because it had to be perfect for the destination. Typically when you think of a wedding in Hawaii you think long, beach dresses that flow in the wind. Unfortunately I started shopping for this wedding a little too late and all the long, flowy summer dresses were already off the racks, so I had to rethink my entire look.

Luckily when I was looking for my dress Topshop just stocked dresses from their new collection and I lucked out with this very elegant dress. The pictures really don’t do the dress justice. It’s a the Topshop Floral Jacquard Plunge Minidress in a beautiful royal navy blue dress with metallic gold and rose gold floral details all around. The dress almost fits like a babydoll dress since it’s tight on the waist and puffs out a bit below. It’s the type of garment that is very form fitting and flattering on any body type. The front of the dress has a V neckline, and the back is open with thin straps coming down from the front to hold the entire outfit together. It’s a stunning detail that you don’t notice until you put the dress on.

To pull the entire look together I wore my black and gold Leo Saffiano Leather Envelope Clutch by Rebecca Minkoff envelope clutch, and black velvet and gold metallic strappy sandals from Vince Camuto. For my jewelry I wanted to keep it very simple. I’m wearing an Elea Cuff Gorjana bracelet and Kendra Scott earrings. I felt very sophisticated for the wedding, and this was hands down my favorite outfit from my trip. I’m already looking for another excuse to wear this dress!
