Friendsgiving Outfit Inspo
I cannot believe it’s almost Thanksgiving! 2016 really flew by. It honestly seems like it was summer yesterday…but here we are one week out from Thanksgiving and over a month out from Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
This time of year can be stressful for most. Between traveling to see your family, planning holiday gifts, and preparing your kitchen for the best meals of the year. However, finding the perfect outfit to wear shouldn't be on your stressful list.
Depending on your friends group or family, what you wear to Thanksgiving can be casual-chic or dressy. No matter how dressy or casual your parties are, we all know buying new outfits for every occasion can be heavy on your wallet.
So how can you look put together without spending too much? It’s time to dig into your own closet for some outfit inspo! I know what you’re thinking…I have nothing to wear in my closest. And while I feel like that most days, I know it’s not true. we always have something to wear. All we need to do is put our mind to it.
I recently did this for Friendsgiving. I wanted to look cute for the party, but knew I didn’t want to spend any money putting my outfit together. So I went digging in my closet, with a little help from my friends, and pulled together a super cute casual-chic outfit for the event.
A few years ago I purchased this laced top with bells sleeves from Express and when I found it in my closet I knew I had to create my outfit around this top. I paired it with a skin colored Forever 21 camisole underneath. Once I had the top portion of my outfit figured out it was time to move on to everything else. I knew I wanted to stay in-season so I decided to go with an earthy tone color pallet. I found a pair of olive green skinny jeans I purchased from Zara last year and threw them on.
These pants really are perfect for the holiday’s because they are stretchy enough where you can have that extra piece of pie without feeling constricted in your jeans ;) To pull the look together I matched my top and jeans with brown midi-booties from Steve Madden I picked up on sale at Nordstrom Rack for $30 last month. I styled the booties with a matching brown Shaffer LA bucket bag.
Super cozy and cost effective look for the holidays! With the long list of family parties and social engagements coming up the next few months, buying new outfits for every event can be very costly–especially when you need to save up to buy some gifts for your loved ones! I encourage you to look through your own closet and see what you can put together. I bet you’ll be surprised what you can put together.
